Düsseldorf lies on the Rhine and is a thriving commercial centre of Germany, known in particular for its fashion and trade fairs. It is the capital of the federal state of North-Rhine-Westphalia, one of the biggest selling and procurement territories in the European Union.
Arup's office is located in the new creative center of Düsseldorf the former industrial harbor which was transformed into a vivid architectural showcase where several well known architects left their footprint.
Arup was involved in numerous projects in or close to the harbor, such as the Colorium, designed by Alsop Architects, London, the 'Wolkenbügel' designed by Wansleben Architects Cologne and the 'Stadttor' designed by Petzinka Pink Düsseldorf.
