Doha is the capital city and economic centre of Qatar. Built on oil and gas revenues, the Qatari government’s determination to diversify the Qatari economy is resulting in a construction boom, as the city develops and modernizes rapidly.
The Aspire Tower in downtown Doha and the design for several new buildings that form part of Doha’s Education City project are just a couple of Arup’s projects in the region.
The firm has also advised on the infrastructure relating to the Chiva Som Health Resort & Spa in Ras Qutaifan north of Doha and reviewed a master plan for Lusail, a new coastal city to be built north of Doha.
