    Arup continues growth and improves performance

    The firm’s annual income rose to £1.13bn as a result of strong financial growth in the UK, Asia and America. The Group generated profits before taxation and profit sharing to staff of £96.7 million. As the firm has no external shareholders, the employee-owned business was able to distribute two thirds of this profit back to staff members.

    We are living in the urban and ageing era. In 2050, for the first time in human history, the number of older people will be greater than the number of children under 15 years old. As cities across the globe continue to grow, more people are growing old in housing, streets, communities that often are failing to respond appropriately to ageing populations with specific policies.

    Participating at the Venice Biennale

    The exhibition is part of the 14th International Architecture Exhibition Fundamentals organised by curator Rem Koolhaas. It reconstructs the global history of each single element, from the roof to the facade or the escalators, by bringing together the ancient, past, current, and future versions of the most revealing and unknown elements used in architecture.
