Arup has won the Engineering Consultant of the Year category at the Buildings Awards 2009.
Philip Dilley received the award on behalf of Arup after the firm beat strong competition from Atkins, Mott MacDonald and Faber Maunsell to pick up the top prize.
The Engineering Consultant of the Year award recognises the outstanding projects, commitment to sustainability and innovative approach delivered by Arup over the past year. The judges commented:
"In every discipline Arup stand out. Success is hardly a surprise where Arup is concerned - the firm remains at the centre of some of the most exciting projects across the globe, and is a true leader of the industry when it comes to sustainability and innovation".
Arup were also Highly Commended in the Project or Construction Manager of the Year category, and Heathrow Terminal 5 was shortlisted for the Project of the Year Award, a testament to the firm’s success in 2008.
The awards were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on Thursday 2 April 2009.
