Five engineers from Arup Warsaw have been selected as members of Technical Committees acting on behalf of the Polish Committee for Standardisation (PKN).
The appointments provide an opportunity for Arup to work in close proximity with the body responsible for preparing, verifying and implementing all national standards to be adopted in Poland.
The seven Technical Committees Arup staff now represent, are aligned with a range of the firm’s core service offerings in Poland. These include: design and construction of concrete structures; sustainability; geotechnics; HVAC installations; intruder alarm systems; fire alarm systems; and electrical installations.
“Arup’s successful nominations recognise the technical excellence of our staff in Warsaw and provide important exposure for Arup to decisions being made on standards that affect the construction industry as a whole” comments Arup Poland office leader, Jan Zabierzewski. “The implementation of national standards is vital for promoting safety and a common technical understanding within design, and is something we are pleased to be associated with” he continues.
As the national standards body for Poland, PKN is a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as well as the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).
