Arup has become a sponsor and collaborator on the Access Economics publication Investment Monitor. The Access Economics - Arup Investment Monitor provides an authoritative quarterly snapshot of major business and government investment projects in Australia, featuring a strategic viewpoint authored by Arup.
This is a significant initiative for Arup. We are pleased to be able to partner with Australia’s leading specialist economic consultancy, and provide a regular contribution to the debate on some of Australia’s most important infrastructure issues and opportunities.
This partnership fits perfectly with our wish to be involved in developing infrastructure projects from inception, in a manner that will best address the underlying service needs and deliver sustainable, economically viable outcomes to all stakeholders.
This partnership is a key element of Arup’s ongoing efforts to provide thought leadership and intelligent advocacy in the infrastructure arena, in line with our ambition to help shape a better world.

Publication Launch
The September 2009 Access Economics - Arup Investment Monitor will be launched on Thursday 29 October at a joint event with Freehills in both Sydney and Melbourne.
The event will focus on integrated urban transport planning and its importance to the quality of life in our major cities and the fabric of our economic infrastructure. Arup will discuss the investment approach required for cities to get it right, and contrast Australian success stories with examples of international best practice, illustrating the array of social, environmental and economic benefits that can be achieved through truly integrated transport planning.
It will also provide a high level commentary on the major projects covered in this issue of Investment Monitor, providing an update on current trends in major project investment and likely developments as the broader economy moves into recovery phase. Speakers will include David Rumbens of Access Economics and Andrew Wisdom of Arup, followed by a panel dialogue moderated by Narelle Hooper, Editor of AFR BOSS magazine.
In Melbourne, John Gardiner, Managing Director of ConnectEast Group, the owner and operator of EastLink and John Curtis, Partner, Freehills will join the panel.
