Sustainable restaurant earns award honours for Arup

06 Sep 2011

The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) recognised Arup for our work on Greenhouse by Joost, Sydney at the New South Wales Chapter Project Management Achievement Awards held on Thursday, 1 September.

A pop-up restaurant, Greenhouse by Joost is an exemplary and highly publicised model of self sufficiency; from its roof garden filtration system, and straw insulation; to the conversion of cooking oil into bio-diesel for power supply. This unique but challenging project was rapidly planned and constructed in under eight weeks.

Ricci Piper received the NSW Chapter Small Projects category award on behalf of the Program and Project Management team. The successful project delivery is testament to the innovative and collaborative project approach managed by Arup’s team.

Greenhouse by Joost will now compete for the national awards in October 2011.
