Arup awarded UK Traffic Management Framework Contract

11 Oct 2011

Multiple specialists to offer traffic management procurement services to public sector clients.

Arup, in partnership with URS Scott Wilson, has been appointed to a new national Government Procurement Service framework for Traffic Management Technology research and consultancy services.

The pan-government collaborative agreement will be readily available to all UK public sector bodies from 17 October 2011. The Government Procurement Service expects the Framework to deliver up to £3 billion of contracts during its four year lifetime.

The Framework will make the public sector procurement process easier by providing instant access to approved suppliers at agreed rates. Public sector buyers will be able to purchase services ranging from Street Lighting Services to Traffic Management Research and Consultancy. It will also offer greater efficiency for public sector agencies to purchase traffic management technologies covering goods, services and solutions.

Arup, and partner URS Scott Wilson, will provide project planning, management, research and design services under Lot 8: Traffic Management Research and Consultancy. The team has established partnerships with over 20 specialised sub consultants, including academia, to provide a diverse and highly specialised range of services.

“We are excited to have been appointed to this next generation of framework arrangement.  It will help buyers from both small and large scale organisations secure specialist services with confidence, benefiting from a quick and efficient procurement process”.

- Tim Gammons, director, Arup

“We look forward to giving buyers a truly rounded solution to their traffic management procurement needs – from initial research right through to the final technology. By working together with Arup, we can provide access to a skill base of over 15,000 specialists.”

- Jon Forni, associate director, URS Scott Wilson
