Jerome Frost to lead Planning in UK MEA

01 Nov 2011

Arup is pleased to announce the appointment of Jerome Frost as Head of Planning for UK, Middle East and Africa (UKMEA).

This is a key appointment for both Arup’s integrated planning team and the firm as a whole. Jerome has many years of experience in design, planning and urban regeneration in both the public and private sectors and was previously the Head of Design and Regeneration for the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). He is also an Arup alumni.

As the ODA Head of Design and Regeneration, Jerome established and led the successful delivery of the ODA Design Strategy. He was also responsible for the design and masterplanning contracts for the Olympic Park, and the coordination of all ODA design issues. Prior to his five years with the ODA and a year with iODA, he was Head of the National Consultancy Unit for English Partnerships - a national centre of expertise for regeneration and development, which included the Advisory Team for Large Applications (ATLAS), a specialist service aimed at mitigating the issues delaying major planning applications across England.

While at Arup previously, Jerome led the Regeneration Business Portfolio for the Development Planning division. His work included international masterplanning and economic development projects, including the regeneration strategy for King’s Cross Central, the compulsory purchase and planning applications for major development at Wembley and sustainable development and transport projects in South Africa and China.

”I am delighted to have Jerome on board. Planning is a key business area for Arup and with Jerome’s experience, technical expertise and industry contacts, I am confident we will see the business grow from strength to strength.”

- Gordon Wilkinson, Head of UKMEA Consulting

”I am thrilled to be returning to Arup. The company is working on so many interesting and diverse projects in the UK and internationally that it was an obvious choice for me. As Leader of the UKMEA Planning Practice I am keen to bring my client side Olympic and Regeneration experience to help further develop the Firm’s portfolio of work. From this platform covering masterplanning, urban economics, town planning, transport, environment, landscape and sustainability, there is no better opportunity to help establish Arup’s primacy in supporting clients from conception through to delivery.”
