Engineers Australia recognised Dr Robert Care with the Professional Engineer of the Year Award at the Sydney Engineering Excellence Awards on Friday, 19 September 2014.

Dr Care was selected for the prestigious award for his leadership role in the reform of Australia’s building regulations in the 1990s and his extensive work on many major global railway and infrastructure projects.

Engineers Australia does an excellent job of highlighting the contribution of engineers and engineering projects to Australia’s built environment. To be nominated as Professional Engineer of the Year by the Sydney Division was a real pleasure. To win is an honour that I share with the many colleagues from Arup, RedR and elsewhere hat have supported me over many years. ” Dr Robert Care Former Arup Principal

From 2004 to 2010 he was Chair of Arup’s Australasia Region and from 2010 to 2013 was Chair of Arup’s UK, Middle East and Africa region.
