Arup transaction advice advisor selected as a recipient in Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine’s 2015 '40 Under 40' award.

This award is given to 40 building industry professionals age 40 and younger who stand out in all aspects of their lives.

Arup’s honouree this year is Jordan O’Brien, LEED AP, MBA, and a Senior Manager in Arup’s San Francisco office. Jordan combines his technical competency and creativity with an understanding of relevant financial drivers. In particular, Jordan excels at leveraging Arup’s broad disciplines to provide early design advice that is both commercially viable and sustainable. Living and working in San Francisco, Jordan has worked on many local, large scale projects, including Treasure Island, Mission Rock, and Google. His desire to make a local impact has extended beyond Arup through his board participation in NatureBridge — an environmental educational non-profit that provides an experience-based opportunity for children to learn and appreciate ecology. Jordan is also a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Responsible Property Investment Council (RPIC) and an avid proponent of San Francisco Planning + Urban Research (SPUR).

Candidates were nominated by a professional colleague or mentor and judged based on commitment to excellence in their academic, professional, personal, and community involvement.

Now in its eighth year, the program has increased in the number of nominees, and each winner truly stands out both professionally and personally.

Amara Rozgus, Editor-in-Chief of Consulting-Specifying Engineer.
