Arup honoured as the consultant with most BEAM plus Platinums

Arup was recognised as the BEAM Consultant with the most BEAM Plus Final and Provisional Platinum projects in Hong Kong.

The recognition was presented by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) at the World GBC Congress 2015 Gala Dinner.

BEAM Plus is a comprehensive environmental assessment scheme for buildings recognised by the HKGBC applicable to both New Buildings (NB) and Existing Buildings (EB). NB projects have to undergo Provisional Assessment (PA) and Final Assessment (FA) while EB projects only have to undergo Final Assessment. This rating system starts from Unclassified, Bronze, Silver, Gold, to Platinum.

Of the 14 projects accredited with Final Platinum rating, Arup has provided BEAM consultancy services for six of them, including:

  • Hysan Place (BEAM Plus NB 1.1)
  • Zero Carbon Building (BEAM Plus NB V1.1)
  • Energizing Kowloon East Office (BEAM Plus NB V1.1)
  • Civil Aviation Department Headquarters (BEAM 4/04 NB)
  • Renovation of 1/F Main Block APB Center for Architectural Services Department (BEAM Plus BI V1.0)
  • ZCB Eco-Home (BEAM Plus BI V1.0)

Other Arup projects which have achieved Provisional Platinum are:

  • Ex-Yuen Long Estate Development (BEAM Plus NB V1.2)
  • Electrical and Mechanical Services Department Headquarters (BEAM Plus EB V1.2)
  • Proposed Commercial Development at 14-30 King Wah Road, North Point (BEAM Plus NB V1.2)
  • Reprovisioning of Harbour Road Sports Centre and Wan Chai Swimming Pool (BEAM Plus NB V1.2)
