Sustaining Identity Symposium II

The Victoria & Albert Museum, London
26 November 2009, 1000 - 1800

Hosted by the RIBA Trust and Arup Associates at the V&A, this one-day symposium is dedicated to the topic of identity and architecture.

The symposium aims to unite visionaries from different generations, cultures and geographies - Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe and the Americas - to prove that the creation of enduring, uniquely localised, people-centred space is both possible and desirable.

Curated by Juhani Pallasmaa, Paul Brislin and Tamara Horbacka, the event will be moderated by Jonathan Glancey, architecture and design correspondent for The Guardian.

Leading international practitioners will use exemplary buildings to show how design can deliver a process of ‘whole life sustainability’ that places people first.
