Hotel Amstelkwartier, Amsterdam, will be one of the most sustainable four-star hotels in Europe, utilising an integrated approach to sustainability to save energy and provide high-quality accomodation. Arup is responsible for the sustainability concept, building services and fire engineering.
Designed by Paul de Ruiter Architects and Mulderblauw Architects, the ambition is to become the first hotel in Europe to achieve LEED Platinum – an internationally recognised sustainability standard.
Location
The hotel includes over 300 rooms and is designed with close attention to the spatial relationship with the city. Use of local produce and materials strengthens the ties with the city in a sustainable way.
The hotel will meet the needs and expectations of travellers without damaging the environment.
