The Port Terminal and Cruise Service Center is a spectacular addition to Kaohsing's urban landscape, and part of the city's strategic infrastructure to drive economic development. The creative design was selected from nearly 100 entries for an international design competition.

Arup supported the winning design team, Reiser+Umemoto RUR Architecture PC and Fei & Cheng Associates, with multi-disciplinary services including traffic, fire, mechanicalelectric and public health engineering, logistics and operations.

    The design disregards the conventional linear form of ports, and aims to create a dynamic icon.
