Piscina Combi Torino

  • New swimming pool complex for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games held in Turin.
  • Steel roof with 16m cantilever.

The design of this swimming pool complex is part of the sporting facilities that the City of Turin has developed for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games.

The complex is located close to the Ice Hockey Stadium, which Arup has also designed with Arata Isozaki, ArchA and arch. Marco Brizio.

The building consists of two 50 meter pools, an olympic pool with spectator grandstands, a lap pool and a two-level basement car park.

With a 16m cantilever, the building has a steel roof and a glass-tensioned façade.

The pools also include an ozone water treatment system. This system allows for an effective antibacterial water treatment.

Arup was responsible for the structural and MEP design, acustics and sport consultancy.
