170m asymmetrical tower adding a dramatic silhouette to Istanbul´s skyline

Soyak Kristal Kule is a high-rise office tower project located in Levent, the main commercial district of Istanbul. The 170m tower, made up of asymmetrical sloping surfaces, adds a dramatic silhouette to Istanbul´s skyline.

This 90,000m² office development includes two building structures, on a podium that will be used as car parking area. The main tower has 35 floors, with the other tower consisting of 12 floors with a helipad on top of it. The project takes its name from the crystal shaped tower designed by the American architects Pei Cobb Freed & Partners while the local architects of the project was Has Mimarlık Ltd.

A performance based design was used on the building and the structure’s design process is as distinctive as its appearance.

Arup provided project management services during design, tender and construction stages and was on board in the very early stages, starting with the selection of the whole design team. Arup had a full-presence on site while the structural works and mechanical and electrical installations were ongoing.
