- Modern teaching hospital boasting 1,000 beds and 24 operating theatres
The Jagiellonian University is building a new hospital in Prokocim, Poland, adjacent to an existing Paediatric Hospital.
The new medical centre will boast 100,000m2 of modern facilities, including space for 1,000 beds and 24 operating theatres.
Arup’s involvement includes structural, electrical, and public health engineering services at the concept design stage. Specialist heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) consultancy services were also provided.
As a teaching hospital, modern teaching facilities are also part of the project. The hospital will have three lecture halls and 40 rooms for seminars and tutorials.
