As Arup’s global geotechnics leader, I’ve worked on many projects around the world, including deep excavations in seismically active zones like San Francisco. I was responsible for the ground engineering of the entire length of the High Speed 1 rail project in the UK and am acting as a reviewer on the next one, High Speed 2.

I’m also a visiting professor at the University of Southampton and have authored around 50 technical papers on ground risk assessment and management.

Having worked and lived in Italy and the US, I’m now based again in London.
