Alexander Rotsch

Alexander Rotsch is Europe Lighting Skill Leader and leads the lighting design team in Germany.
The experienced and multiple award-winning designer is an acknowledged expert both within Arup and externally in the field of lighting design and technology, with a particular focus on innovative human centred design.
As project manager and director, he has successfully completed more than 60 national and international projects. His expertise and creativity have shaped many renowned projects such as the refurbishment of Mies van der Rohe’s Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, the Amorepacific's headquarters in Seoul, the Orientkaj and Nordhavn Metro Stations in Copenhagen or the product development of a modular luminaire system.
Alexander studied architecture at the Bauhaus-University in Weimar and at the École Nationale Supérieure d 'Architecture in Paris. After graduating with a degree in architecture, he specialized in daylight and electrical lighting design. In his work, he relies on interdisciplinary collaboration and design thinking, which inspires his teams to deliver exceptional innovative and creative solutions.
