Arup’s business in Manchester has contributed to the growth of the city for more than 60 years. Our office is now home to almost 500 engineers, planners, digital experts, and technical specialists, contributing to transformational projects across the region. We have led the redevelopment of iconic city landmarks, such as Manchester Town Hall, and been at the heart of delivering the Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD).

Our people provide strategic advice on major rail and highways projects to transform connectivity within the region. We have designed and partnered on major transport infrastructure, including the Transpennine Route Upgrade. Dedicated to sustainable development, we are proud to have contributed to green infrastructure initiatives to create vibrant, liveable spaces for communities and neighbourhoods across the city.

Working on local, national and international projects, our integrated teams support innovation within all sectors and are driving innovation in Manchester through strategic partnership links and cross-collaboration with local anchor institutes, including The University of Manchester.
