Located in the heart of the Loop, Arup’s Chicago office was established in 2004. Our engineers and consultants collaborate with prominent local and international firms, focusing on digital, science, industry, and technology (SIT), property, aviation, education, and arts and culture sectors, for portfolio and enterprise clients. Within our office, we collaborate with designers and clients in our revolutionary SoundLab, a controlled auralization environment that allows clients to experience and compare the acoustic performance of various design options.

Significant projects include the satellite concourses at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Fermilab – Integrated Engineering Research Center, Chicago Architecture Center, WW Grainger Headquarters, the Lycée Français de Chicago, and the annual open-air temporary installation at Ragdale Ring.

Current and recently completed projects highlight a range of notable work including the Chicago Union Station Phase 1A, Solstice on the Park, Williams Park Fieldhouse, Leopardo office fit-out and Art Preserve of John Michael Kohler Arts Center. Arup’s buildings and consulting teams also actively work on smart buildings and digital masterplans for large commercial developments and organizations, and ongoing consulting and engineering services for data centers for global technology firms.
