New York is one of the world’s great metropolitan centers and the most populous city in the US. Arup’s New York office is the largest in the Americas region and its staff represents virtually all of Arup’s many engineering, design and consulting disciplines.

The firm’s current work in New York includes the first phase of the new Second Avenue Subway, a multibillion dollar underground railway line on the east side of Manhattan. The Fulton Street Transit Center is replacing a maze of underground pedestrian passages with a passenger-friendly central hub linking 12 subway lines and six stations. Recently completed, JetBlue Airways’s Terminal 5 at JFK Airport is setting new standards for passenger convenience and airport efficiency.

Multidisciplinary Arup teams are also involved in the renovation and revitalization of Lincoln Center, the world’s largest performing arts campus. The New York office also hosts the firm’s revolutionary SoundLab, a controlled auralization environment that allows clients to experience and compare the acoustic performance of various design options.
