The London 2012 Olympic Park Landscape and Public Realm has been announced as the winner of two prestigious accolades at UK Landscape Institute Awards.

The Olympic Parklands and Public Realm project took the top industry prize, the President’s Award which is presented each year to the best landscape architecture scheme of the year. The project also won the Peter Youngman Award, presented each year to the project which has made an outstanding contribution to landscape and was awarded to the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC).

Arup’s team of landscape architects, engineers and specialists, led by Tom Armour, collaborated with LDA Design, Hargreaves Associates and Atkins on the development of the South Olympic Park - to transform one square mile of derelict land into one of the largest urban parks in Europe.

Now in its sixth consecutive year, Landscape Institute Awards is managed by the royal chartered body for landscape architects and recognises outstanding examples of work in the landscape profession. To view the full list of winner and shortlisted entrants, visit the Landscape Institute website.
