Knighthood for former Chairman Philip Dilley

Charlotte S Charlotte Fernández UKIMEA Press Office,Leeds
23 June 2014

Philip Dilley has been awarded a Knighthood by Her Majesty the Queen for services to consulting engineering.

Knighthoods are awarded to individuals who have delivered a major contribution to their field, usually at national level. The last Group Chairman to be awarded a Knighthood was Sir Duncan Michael in 2001.

It is a great honour to be recognised in this way and it reflects the great work of everyone at Arup who has contributed to the firm’s tremendous reputation over the years.

Philip Dilley, Arup trustee and former Group Chairman.

Philip joined Arup as a graduate trainee and rose to become Arup’s youngest ever Group Chairman in 2009. He completed his term as Chairman in April 2014, but continues to support the firm as a Trustee, as well as working on client and project opportunities.

It is a great honour for Philip and for the firm, so of course everyone at Arup is proud to see Philip recognised for his leadership and contribution to business and the built environment.

Terry Hill, Arup Trustee and former Chairman.
