Krakow Congress Centre, a new landmark for the historic city of Krakow, opens today with an inaugural concert event.

The 18,000m2 building houses an auditorium, a theatre and chamber hall and also includes 500m2 of stock rooms, technical back rooms and an underground parking lot. Its modern image is determined by the organically shaped building with a large glazed foyer, which opens the perspective to the river, to the old city centre and the royal Wawel Castle.

The venue includes the latest forms of acoustic technology – a first for Poland – making it one of the country’s best concert halls. This technology includes above-stage sound reflectors, movable screens that reflect sound and regulate the time of after-sounds, and seats with the highest acoustic, ergonomic and durability specifications. Thanks to its design and technologies applied, the hall can accommodate cultural events, conferences and congresses up to 2,000 people.

Our Krakow office and Acoustics team in the UK were responsible for the comprehensive designs of acoustics and stage technology, as well as mechanical, public health and electrical services.
