Josef Hargrave, a consultant in Arup’s Foresight + Research + Innovation team, has been appointed as a Futures Fellow by London Transport Museum.

As Futures Fellow, Josef will provide updates on global and regional trends around transport and associated themes. He will also support the Museum’s thought leadership programme Interchange, assist with the curation of the Futures gallery at the Museum and help deliver the Museum’s public programme of events which includes talks, debates and Friday Lates.

The transport industry is constantly changing. New technology and ideas are dramatically transforming the way we travel and so I’m delighted to have an expert like Josef Hargrave on board with us. Josef will offer our Museum invaluable insight into the future of transport and the ever evolving trends of this dynamic sector. His expertise will bring new thinking into our public programming and ultimately allow the Museum to offer our visitors a radical vision of transport in the coming decades.

- Sam Mullins, Director of London Transport Museum

With a career based in exploring and envisioning the future of the built environment and how trends in design will transform future human experiences, Josef will help guide how the world’s leading urban transport Museum looks to the future.

This partnership will allow both organisations to better understand the future of transport in London. By taking a longer term view we can engage visitors in conversations about change, and how this might shape the lives of Londoners’ in the decades to come. Being able to work so closely with the world’s leading urban transport museum is certainly an exciting opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.

- Josef Hargrave, Consultant, Foresight + Research + Innovation

We are very pleased to have this opportunity to work with the museum to share with London the trends in transport and smart mobility that we are discovering and helping develop around the world.

- Duncan Wilkinson, Arup Director
