Arup welcomes new business leadership appointments in Australasia

Arup is pleased to today announce a number of new appointments in Australasia. Ross Campbell is taking on the leadership role for Highways, Ian Ainsworth taking the Sports portfolio and Anna Squire leading the Rail business. Mike Straughton is leading a new integrated offering for Environment and Resources.

Ross Campbell, based in Melbourne, is a Fellow of Roads Australia with experience in both the public and private sector. He takes on the leadership role for Highways, which is a significant part of Arup’s global business, forming the third largest business in the firm. In Australasia we provide business strategy, design, delivery and asset management across a broad range of projects including the Hoddle Street Business Case, Bruce Highway Upgrade and M4 Smart Motorway in Sydney.

Ian Ainsworth has more than 30 years’ experience across Arup offices in Australia, UK, Singapore, UAE and USA, making major contributions to some of Australia’s most well-known new stadia including new Perth Stadium, Anna Meares Velodrome, and Singapore Sports Hub. Currently based in Brisbane, Ian is supporting the Sports team in current and future collaborations on innovative and spectator-centric sporting and entertainment venues.

Anna Squire, a Fellow of Engineers Australia, takes on the leadership of the Region’s rail business, which is working on city shaping projects including Sydney Metro, CrossRiver Rail in Brisbane, Inland Rail, Bugis Line in Singapore and Auckland Light Rail. Based in Sydney, Anna has over 20 years’ experience in large infrastructure projects across high speed rail, heavy rail, light rail and metro systems.

In addition, Mike Straughton is leading a new, integrated offering for Environment and Resources – combining our expertise in energy and sustainability to deliver better solutions to the challenges faced by our urban areas.
