Belgrade

One of Europe's oldest cities, Belgrade is the capital of Serbia and its largest city. Belgrade's architecture ranges in style from its historical centre to the modern design of New Belgrade. The city's great business potential is emphasised by the substantial direct foreign investments that it attracts.

Arup's Belgrade office deploys international knowledge on a range of projects in Serbia and in the region. We are currently working on the Corridor 10 project, providing the strengthening of environmental management, monitoring and auditing for the construction of a 160km highway. Furthermore, we are providing technical assistance to the Roads of Serbia during the rehabilitation programme of more than 1,100km of road network in the country.

In addition to this, we are supporting the EBRD by providing environmental and social due diligence services in projects across the region, like the Belgrade Water Project, Public Bus Transport Project Belgrade, Kragujevac Infrastructure Upgrade Project, Serbia Train-Technical Passenger Station and Kolubara Mining Facility in Serbia. We participated in similar projects in Croatia, such as the Bus Transport Project Pula, District Heating Rijeka and Water and Waste Water Rijeka. We have also worked with EBRD as Technical Advisor for the Old Mill project in Belgrade.

Our office in Belgrade has been involved in a number of high-profile projects in Serbia, working with private clients as well. We provided project management services for the retail project, RK Nis, which involved the refurbishment, reconstruction and extension of a 17,000m2 area using FIDIC contract. More recently, we have reviewed designs for several plots within the Belgrade Waterfront project, including the Kula Belgrade high-rise building.

In collaboration with our office in Italy, we have prepared and delivered the design documentation necessary for obtaining local permits for the Fiat Automobile Factory in Kragujevac, and we provided civil engineering services on the CEE BIG project in Novi Sad and Scania in Belgrade.
