One of the largest infrastructure contractors in Colombia needed to assess whether or not they would pursue an opportunity to expand some of the facilities at the Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Cali, Colombia. In order to make their decision, they hired Arup to understand the value engineering potential and costing details of the opportunity.

Arup developed detailed cost estimates, schedule evaluations, and provided value engineering analysis to optimise designs and reduce capital expenditure.

Working with local cost and engineering consultants, Arup provided an updated cost analysis, which was reflective of the local market; a risk-based contingency determination through project team workshops; and recommendations on significant value engineering solutions.
