Arup was appointed as the structural and civil engineering consultant for Botswana's second university.
The completed campus buildings, with a gross floor area of 22,000m2, will consist of administration, staff and student accommodation, staff rooms, lecture theatres and laboratories as well as kitchen/dining and sports facilities.
The buildings will be connected and supported by infrastructure works that include roads and sewage treatment facilities.
The biggest challenges of the project relate to the sandy and unstable soil conditions that make laying deep infrastructure pipes especially difficult.
