Arup was appointed as the development manager for South Africa’s first science and technology park, known as the Innovation Hub.
The project forms part of the Gauteng province’s strategy to encourage technology both in the province and in South Africa.
The development is 121,000m² in size, accommodating businesses in the fields of information and communication technology, electronics, life sciences, defence, aerospace, advanced materials and manufacturing. The development encourages networking between entrepreneurs, researchers and stakeholders.
The hub provides shared facilities such as a knowledge centre, post office, auditoria, and restaurants, boardrooms, meeting rooms, video conferencing and exhibition spaces.
