Istanbul Metro Kaynarca Line, Istanbul

Multidisciplinary preliminary and final design engineering study on an underground rail system project linking the main districts of Istanbul

Istanbul is a booming city facing immense challenges in trying to accommodate additional 84,000 cars every year. The increase in motor vehicles is faster that the population growth. Metro projects all around the city have been developed to overcome the transport issues of one of Europe’s largest city.

New links for the city

We have completed the multidisciplinary preliminary and final design engineering study on an underground rail system (metro) project linking the main districts of the city of the city. The client tendered the line for construction following the completion of design.

The project consists of approximately 9.7km long metro line with six stations, which have been determined within the framework of the Istanbul Metropolitan Area Integrated Urban Transportation Plan.

We were responsible for determining the locations of the stations and the operating scenarios, multidisciplinary design of the stations and depot area, prepation of the construction plans of the selected route and of the financial and economical feasibility studies. Multidisciplinary design included architectural, mechanical, electrical, and ICT design of stations together with preparation of design.
