Kuntsevo is a “city within a city”; a multi-functional complex in an area of Moscow historically linked to artists and writers. This is one of the reasons that the client found it extremely important for their building to have a unique identity amid the myriad large shopping/office/housing complexes in Moscow. This was understood and taken up by Arup.
Our lighting vision focuses on providing the end-user with a unique environment. Diverse lighting solutions provide varying atmospheres per functional zone, allowing people to experience a changing environment while retaining a common identity of place.
The design was carried out in close collaboration with the Jerde Partnership to keep the design vision constant and focused.
We also carried out a detailed review of the mechanical, electrical and public health engineering design in order to add additional value to the client’s project.
