This is a new 60,000m² babycare production facility and support buildings for Procter & Gamble Lagos located on a 50ha site in Nigeria. The project includes concept, scheme and comprehensive use of up-to-date 3D detailed design.
Arup has also provided a comprehensive range of services, including project management, civil and structural engineering, mechanical, electrical and public health engineering as well as fire, security and risk consulting, IT and communications systems and review of cost management.
In conjunction with the logistics operation, security measures were included to assist in the marshalling of permitted vehicles to designated spaces for delivery and removal of raw and finished products. The production facility itself was provided with electronic security measures to include access control, intruder detection and internal/external CCTV.
Particular requirements were to provide limited access for delivery personnel and to monitor the loading and unloading operations of both facility produced products and distribution of other stored product.
