Q-Park logisitics centre, Kazan

A logistics centre strategically located for Russia's major cities

The Q-Park logistics centre is strategically located to the north of Kazan International airport, 25km from the city centre and with easy access to Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Ufa.

The capital city of the Republic of Tartarstan, Kazan is located 450km east of Moscow. Kazan has long been a strategically important centre for manufacturing and logistics, as it lies at the confluence of the Kazanka River and the Volga River, the longest in Europe.

Arup was involved in site masterplanning as well as the development of the technical brief and preliminary engineering design.

During the concept design phase Arup prepared the civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and public health engineering concept designs as a basis for developing ‘Proekt’ documentation for the entire development. The firm also provided working documentation for the construction of site-wide infrastructure and the first phase of warehouse construction (approximately 69,000m2).

When the project reached the design development phase, Arup provided a technical review and development of the local design institute’s detailed design, enabling the local design institute to submit Proekt documentation.

Arup also provided a review of Proekt documentation to ensure conformance with the client’s requirements and conducted reviews of the working documentation prepared by the general contractor at 30%, 60% and 90% completion.
