Shaping a better world is more than just a slogan to us. It’s the way we think and work. What’s unique is that it isn’t new to us - social usefulness, connectedness and total design was embedded in our values and operations by our founder in the 1970s, decades before other companies.
Our ownership model sets us apart, allowing us to put clients at the heart of everything we do. We are held in trust for staff, so we are driven by choosing the right partnerships, not by shareholder return. Our organisational structure and cultural integrity allows us to truly live by our values and put our clients and communities first. Although backed by a global team, we make our own business decisions, so we can be nimble and responsive to our clients’ needs, and our clients work on projects with the Arup people of their choice.
From our past work on iconic New Zealand buildings - as North Harbour Stadium and Te Papa Museum of New Zealand in Wellington started – to our contribution to future proofing Auckland through city access plans, we have shown that technical expertise is only powerful when combined with a passion for improving community connectivity.
