Each year we welcome over 100 graduates to our offices in Hong Kong, mainland China, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. We offer high-calibre graduates, bursting with ideas and curiosity, the support and opportunity to enjoy an interesting and rewarding career.

Developing you from day one

Our new graduates are offered a 1-week induction program to help you understand Arup’s culture and values, and adjust to our fast-paced, collaborative environment as quickly as possible.

Throughout your time as a graduate, you will be provided with structured training via Arup University and local training schemes where necessary. You’ll also receive continual guidance from experienced supervisors and tutors throughout your time as a graduate.

We hire people across a wide range of specialisms – from accounting and finance, through civil and structural engineering, to IT and communications specialists. Some of the things we look for in people include:

  • Studied/studying in a field relevant to the team you are applying for

  • Meet work rights requirements for chosen country

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team

  • Self-motivated, innovative thinker and willing to take on new challenges

  • Well-rounded people, with extra-curricular interests and most importantly a passion for the work we do

Can I apply for a role that is not in my home country?

Yes. You can apply for any open position in any one of the following locations currently hiring graduates: Hong Kong, mainland China, Macau, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Please note however that your eligibility depends on the hiring country’s qualification requirements, employment laws, work permit and/or visa requirements.

Do I have the opportunities to work in other locations?

One of the many benefits of working for a global firm like Arup is the mobility it offers over the long-term. Our SW@P programme is specially designed for staff in early career stages to rev up their professional development overseas.

What happens after you receive my CV?

Our interview process varies according to the country and position(s) you have applied for. Applicants who apply through our online portal will receive an email confirming receipt of their CV. Applicants who meet our requirements will be contacted for an interview.

What training and development will I receive?

All fresh graduates are offered a 1-week Induction Programme which helps you to understand Arup’s culture and core values and adapt to our fast-paced, collaborative and innovation-pursuing environment as quickly as possible.

Once starting your journey, we provide structured training via Arup University and local training scheme (if applicable) - a perfect platform to launch a long-term career at Arup. Closely guided by experienced supervisors and tutors, you will receive best-in-class training and gain valuable design office knowledge, skills and experience through lunch and learn, social and mobile learning, rotations and site assignments.
