Working life in Australia
Arup came to Australia in 1963 to undertake the structural design of the Sydney Opera House and we now work from eight offices across four key areas of influence: cities, connectivity, health, resources.
We provide services for every stage of a project – from inception to completion and beyond. We undertake projects of all types and sizes from feasibility reports and specialist studies to detailed design and large scale capital works programs.
We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history of our region, and Arup's Indigenous Employment Strategy articulates our actions to broaden employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians into, and within, the firm.

Meet our people
It’s an amazing feeling to walk around my city and point to all the buildings I’ve contributed toward. You are given a lot of responsibility and your work has a significant impact on projects.
It was the opportunity to work on challenging projects with the potential to completely transform communities and cities that made me want to be a part of Arup. The use of outcome-lead design in multidisciplinary teams was really attractive to me.
It’s also really cool that Arup values personal development as well as career progression and encourages people to work abroad or take on opportunities that aren’t always directly work related.
