Why Arup?
We see things differently. Our people create remarkable outcomes for clients and communities through the innovative work that they do.

Our story
Since Sir Ove Arup founded the company in 1946, Arup has been working across the built environment - influencing some of the world's most iconic structures.
Life at Arup
Discover more about what you can expect from working at Arup - from the kind of work you'll be doing to the people you'll work with.
We are owned in trust for the benefit of our employees, who we call our members. This structure, recognised as a form of employee-ownership, gives us the freedom to put our clients first, set our own direction, and develop Arup in ways that allow us to contribute positively to the biggest challenges facing the world.
We provide an attractive total reward package that recognises the contribution that each member makes to our shared success. Profit share is a key part of our reward, enabling members to share in the results of our collective efforts.
As well as competitive, fair and equitable pay, we offer careers in which all of our members can belong, grow and thrive. These come with benefits that support health and wellbeing and a wide range of learning opportunities. We also provide private medical insurance, life assurance, accident insurance and income protection cover. In addition, you’ll have the ability to choose from flexible benefits, to help you look after all aspects of your wellbeing, for you and/or your family’s needs.
Flexible Working
Our hybrid work model creates an environment that accommodates different needs and allows members to integrate their work and personal lives alongside the needs of our business, clients and communities.

Learning and development
Whatever your field of expertise, a career at Arup is a chance to develop your skills further and build on what you already know. We provide opportunities for all our people to learn new things, through challenging and innovative work, in an environment that allows individuals to flourish.
We believe in career-long learning, and you’ll find an atmosphere that encourages self-discovery and allows you time to be creative. Our people benefit from both formal training including a range of internally developed courses covering new techniques and practices, as well as opportunities to gain valuable experience through community engagement activities.
Every day is a chance to learn. At Arup, a majority of your learning comes from your day-to-day work on projects, stretch assignments or interaction with senior colleagues. About a fifth takes the form of coaching or mentoring, attending events or being involved in professional associations. Finally, we also offer formal classroom or e-learning based courses. We'll support your development, in the way that works best for you.

Inclusion at Arup
At Arup everyone belongs. We foster an environment where every individual’s unique perspective and background is celebrated. By championing the diversity of our people, we create a stronger, more resilient organisation that positively impacts on our people, projects, clients, and communities.
