Becci Taylor is a London-based director, leading Arup’s Retrofit at Scale business which takes a whole-system approach to decarbonisation and delivers beneficial outcomes for place and people. She directs strategic research and projects that deliver transformational change to a sustainable built environment.

Becci’s unique focus is at the intersection of the built environment and the people in it. She uses her blended expertise in building physics and engineering systems to deliver low carbon designs with human comfort at their core. She leads industry wide system change to deliver decarbonisation, resilience and social value through influencing across scales from detailed design standards to master planning principles.

With 20 years' experience in the industry, Becci has delivered retrofit and new build projects across housing, arts & culture and masterplanning globally. Her expertise lies in integrating diverse disciplines to improve the quality of life for all with the most efficient use of planetary resources. She is action-focused and driven to disrupt industry norms when required. To achieve this, she collaborates across the industry ecosystem and has built strong relationships with local authorities, construction institutions, and a wide range of stakeholders.

Becci is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers where she sits on the Council, leads the Overheating Task Group and is part of the Homes for the Future group. She led the creation of industry residential overheating guidance (TM59) and CIBSE low carbon domestic hot water guidance and contributed to UKGBC healthy homes research.
