Judith is a chartered fire engineer, UKIMEA Fire Engineering skills leader for Arup, and a member of several industry and government working groups for fire safety in the UK.

She has over 20 years of experience in fire safety across the built environment in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa and New Zealand and regularly collaborates with Arup's global team of over 300 fire safety consultants on a host of topics.

Over the course of the last 10 years, she has led highly acclaimed research that informed codes and standards globally, focused on contributing to the growing body of knowledge, with insights quoted widely to develop a safe, low-carbon future for buildings. She has led project teams in the delivery of fire safety guidance for mass timber buildings as well as for EVs in enclosed carparking buildings.

Judith is passionate about helping Arup deliver on sustainability such that resilience, safety and regeneration opportunities are considered together though a focus on safety equity, green building envelopes, and the remediating, repurposing and retrofitting existing buildings, which are a focus for the research at Arup University.
