With an introduction by Jack Zunz, Joanna Kennedy begins this issue of the Arup Journal with a look at the role and importance of education and training within the firm - and how it helps to ensure we are able to deliver the best possible work for our clients.
Turning to projects, we take a look at Stockley Park, a major development scheme in West London that has been underway since 1985. Transforming former waste land, the project will create 250 acres of landscaped parkland, lakes, playing fields , and an 18-hole golf-course with 90 acres of commercial development.
We also take an in-depth look at Arup's work with pre-stressed concrete, looking at a number of projects we have worked on over the past 40 years.
