Ben Crone is an Associate at Arup with almost two decades of experience in automotive crash simulation and computer-aided engineering (CAE). A recognised LS-DYNA expert, Ben has worked extensively with the UK’s LS-DYNA community, providing training, technical support, and guidance to some of the largest user groups in the country.
Based in Arup’s Birmingham office, Ben combines deep technical knowledge with a strong focus on client needs. He has successfully managed and delivered a wide range of projects, from complex crash simulations to the development of bespoke analysis tools, ensuring solutions that are both innovative and practical. His experience spans multiple UK OEMs as well as international work in Shanghai, giving him a global perspective on engineering challenges.
In addition to his consultancy work, Ben contributes to the development of Oasys software, authoring several pedestrian impact tools within PRIMER, the industry-leading LS-DYNA pre-processor. His unique blend of technical expertise, customer engagement, and project leadership enables him to deliver high-value solutions that meet the evolving demands of the automotive industry.
