Future Ideas Edinburgh is a collection of bold, creative, practical, and place-based proposals designed to tackle the city’s most pressing challenges with imagination and care.

Our early careers teams engaged with senior leaders from local authorities including Edinburgh Council and Scottish Government to develop these ideas. From revitalising hidden infrastructure like the Scotland Street Tunnel, to harnessing waste heat for sustainable energy, creating wellbeing hubs, and inspiring active travel with the Yellow Mile these ideas honour Edinburgh’s rich heritage while looking ahead to a more inclusive, resilient, and vibrant future.
