London Work Experience Programme 2026: Applications now open

It is a unique experience that offers insight into our culture and the diverse projects we deliver. You will explore how we work across all aspects of the built and natural environment and gain a "big picture" view of how a global consultancy operates.

Why join the London Programme? 

Throughout the week, you will gain hands-on exposure to real-world challenges, participate in collaborative activities and learn directly from industry professionals. 

You will work on a group project that culminates in an end-of-week presentation. You will pitch your ideas to a panel of Arup experts, gaining invaluable experience in public speaking and professional communication. 

Beyond technical knowledge, you will also leave with the skills needed in the modern workplace - like building a professional profile, networking, career exploration.   

Choose your team  

The programme offers opportunities to work closely with one of the following teams:   

Cities, Planning and Design: Learn how we design sustainable environments and connected cities. You will explore how Arup improves transport, air quality, and access to essential facilities to help communities thrive. 

Digital Services: See how our digital team turns complex data into clear insights. You will learn how we develop bespoke tools and applications that help us use technology responsibly to improve our cities. 

Technical Specialist Services: Explore the science and engineering that make buildings safer and more efficient. Get hands-on with disciplines like structural analysis, lighting, acoustics, and inclusive design. 

Energy, Water and Resources: Tackle the world’s most pressing challenges. You will gain insight into managing vital resources, focusing on flood resilience, clean water systems, and low-carbon energy solutions. 

Who can apply?     

We prioritise Year 12 students from Greater London schools, though applications from Year 11 and Year 13 students are also welcome. 

For students in schools in the London Borough of Camden, please apply via the Futures for All platform. 

You must be able to attend our London offices every day (Monday – Friday). Please consider your commute time and costs before applying.
