Arup has been awarded ‘Technical Advisor of The Year’ across three regions in the IJGlobal Awards, recognising the role the firm played in transactions closed in the 2019 calendar year across the international infrastructure and energy sectors.

Arup received the Technical Adviser of the Year accolade for 2019 in the Europe and Africa, North America and Latin America categories. This is the second consecutive year that Arup has won the award for North America and Europe.

The award wins were accepted virtually by Arup’s business and investor advisory team (BIA), which specialises in providing financial services to developers and investors across the energy and infrastructure markets, from lending advice through to strategy and policy guidance.

The annual IJGlobal awards celebrate excellence and innovation in infrastructure project finance and recognise the best-in-class transactions to have closed over the past calendar year. The awards are based on independent voting by a judging panel made up of industry experts across infrastructure and energy.

We’re delighted to once again be recognised for our work on behalf of clients. Our ability to pair technical and financial expertise allows us to provide the best advice to our clients and look at individual deals from multiple angles. We look forward to continuing to support our clients through our diverse range of advisory and technical consulting services.” ” Filippo Gaddo Filippo Gaddo Former Director

Primary deals which led to the awards win included advising the Lenders (IFC, EBRD and OeEB) on Serbia’s landmark €370 million Belgrade Waste to Energy PPP project, as well as Electricity North West, acting for the vendors, JP Morgan and First State Investments.

Feedback from the judges stated: “You know when you bring Arup to the table that you’re working with true professionals and that they leverage knowledge and experience that goes far beyond the technical and due diligence.”

As the world continues to adapt to ever changing conditions, Arup’s global BIA team continues to provide support to clients, including due diligence for sustainability agendas and assessing portfolios of assets to see how they contribute to these agendas.
