Arup’s Seattle office was established in 2003 with the aim of better serving our clients and realizing a more sustainable and equitable built environment across the Pacific Northwest. Situated in the center of a booming tech hub, our office is frequently serving both the public and private sectors by providing engineering, consulting, and planning services on a wide array of projects across several markets, including aviation, climate and sustainability, energy, transportation, property, science, and industry.

Our multidisciplinary team has been a critical part of some of Seattle and the surrounding area’s most notable projects including the renovation of the Space Needle, the modularly-fabricated citizenM hotel in South Lake Union, and the recently opened Seattle Convention Center Summit building.

Arup’s specialists are also actively collaborating with Science, Industry, and Technology (SIT) leaders across the Pacific Northwest and the world to develop state-of-the-art labs and research facilities, including Dexcom’s newest production facility in Malaysia and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Energy Sciences Center. Additionally, as we look to the future of the broader Pacific Northwest, our team continues to grow its offerings in mass timber construction, sustainable rail and aviation design, and energy consulting.

Our office was designed to comply with the WELL Building Standard, utilizing WELL’s design optimizations including healthy materials selection, biophilic features, easy access to filtered water and fitness equipment, and acoustic control over noise intrusion for the best possible collaboration space. The office also features a SoundLab, a fully immersive audio environment, paired with projected visuals, or Virtual Reality (VR), where Arup delivers multi-sensory simulations of existing or unbuilt space, to allow project clients, collaborators, and stakeholders to make better informed design decisions.

Our Seattle members work closely with our San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles offices to deliver landmark projects across the western United States.
