This 6.5 km² aluminium flat-rolled product facility is a second phase development of the Asia Aluminium Industrial City.
It is an integrated aluminium fabrication complex at Dawang Hi-Tech Development Zone in Zhaoqing city, Guangdong province.
The project comprises state of the art cold rolling and hot rolling mills, cast and melt shops, coating and finishing lines, plate department for further fabrications, packing and shipping shops, grinders for the maintenance of roller equipment and stand-alone utility buildings, serving the whole facility during production. It will have an initial capacity of 400,000 metric tonnes per year.

Arup was appointed as both the project manager and the multidisciplinary architectural and engineering designer to provide full engineering and design services for the project under separate contracts.
This included all aspects of project management, architectural design, civil and utilities engineering, structure, geotechnics, electrical and mechanical engineering, from scheme to detailed design and construction documentation.
