China R&D campus of an international software company, Beijing

One of the most energy-efficient buildings in China.

Situated in Beijing’s 'Silicon Valley', the R&D campus features two buildings, 80m and 65m high with a gross floor area of more than 101,000m2.

The campus can house 5,000 employees and offers shared facilities for the company’s partners and customers.

Arup provided multidisciplinary engineering services for this 'vertical campus', including structural engineering, building services, facade engineering and building physics.

An environmental friendly campus

One of the most environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient buildings in China, the campus uses innovative technologies including double-skin façade, a solar water heating system and an underfloor air supply system.

Sustainable materials minimise energy consumption, create a more sustainable workplace and provide a healthy environment for researchers to discover and share ideas.
